Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status by his folk-inspired pop hits with a lot of them being set in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in affection with Colorado and later moved to Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his home state drew many tourists to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver was by far one of the most popular performers who embodies Colorado. Denver was a member of the Hall of Fame as its initial member in the year 2011. Denver has become the image of Colorado for a lot of people all over the world. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked within small Folk Music groups. The song was composed with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the track for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the potential of the single the moment he heard it for the first time.
